1 1/2 ts Baking powder
1/4 ts Baking soda
1 ts Sugar
1/2 c Shortening
1 c Buttermilk
CHOCOLATE GRAVY
2 tb Cocoa
1 1/2 c Sugar
2 tb Allpurpose flour
1 ts Vanilla extract

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. In a large bowl combine the flour, baking

knives. Add the buttermilk and knead until smooth and pliable. Roll the
dough out on a floured surface to the desired thickness or about 1/2 inch.
Cut with a biscuit cutter and place in a baking pan. Bake for about 12
minutes or until brown on top.
In a saucepan combine the cocoa, sugar, flour, vanilla and water. Cook over
medium heat until it boils. The mixture will slowly thicken. Cook for about
10 minutes. Pour over buttered hot biscuits. Serves 10.
