Whole Wheat Banana Nut Bread

Ingrients & Directions


1 1/2 c Sugar
2/3 c Shortening; (half margarine,
-half shortening)
2 Eggs
1 Mashed ripe bananas; (takes
-about 3)
1/2 c Buttermilk
1 Level teaspoon soda;
-(dissolve in milk)
2 c Whole wheat flour
1 c Coursely chopped pecans
1 ts Vanilla

Mix in order given. Bake in greased loaf pans or muffin tins in slow oven
(about 300 degrees). Bake until toothpick comes out clean when inserted in
cake. (1/2 c. cracked soy may be used instead of nuts.)
