1/2 c Shortening
2 c Flour — all-purpose
1 2/3 c Sugar — granulated
2 ts Baking powder
2 ts Vanilla
1/2 ts Salt
2 Eggs
1/3 c Milk
2 oz Chocolate — unsweetened
1 Sugar — confectioner’s
Thouroughly cream shortening, sugar vanilla. Beat in eggs, then chocolate,
melted. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt; add alternately with
milk. Chill 3 hours. Form 1-inch balls; roll in confectioner’s sugar. Place
on greased cookie sheet 2 to 3 inches apart. Bake in moderate oven (350
degrees or so) for 15 minutes. Cool slightly; remove from pan. Makes 48.
