Eggless, Butterless, Milkless Cake

Ingrients & Directions


2 c Raisins
1 c Sugar
1 c Water
1/2 c Shortening
2 c All-purpose flour
1 ts Baking powder
1/4 ts Salt
1 ts Cinnamon
1 ts Nutmeg
1 ts Soda
1/2 ts Cloves
1 tb Boiling water

Mix raisins, sugar and water; boil for 3 minutes. Add shortening. When cold
add flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves (sifted
together), and soda dissolved in 1 tablespoon boiling water. Bake in a
greased loaf pan for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
