Homemade Bread

Ingrients & Directions


2 c Warm water Melted
2 pk Active dry yeast — 1/4 oz 2 tb Sugar
Each 1 tb Salt
2/3 c Powdered milk 6 c All-purpose flour — or 7
2 tb Butter or margarine — Cups

In a large bowl, stir together warm water and yeast. Let stand until
dissolved.Stir in milk, butter, sugar, salt and enough flour to form a
stiff dough. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead until smooth
and elastic, about 10-12 min. Place in a greased bowl, turning once
to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled,
about 1 hr. Punch down and divide in half. Shape into two loaves and
place in greased 8x4x2 inch pans. Cover and let rise until doubled,
about 1 hr. Bake at 400 deg. for 30 min. or until golden brown.
Yield: 2 loaves.
