———————–COLONIAL COOKBOOK-YANKEE———————–
2 c Flour 1/3 c Shortening
1 ts Salt Milk

Sift flour with salt and cut shortening in thoroughly. Add enough
milk to make stiff dough. Work dough for 20 minutes on floured board
by beating dough with mallet or rolling pin, folding it, then beating
and folding again over and over until the dough is blistered and pops.
roll of 1/3 inch thick and cut with 2-inch round cutter. prick with
fork. Bake on ungreased cooke sheet for about 15 minutes at 400 F.
Makes approximately 2 dozen.
