Anzac Biscuits

Ingrients & Directions


100 g Butter (look on the back
-side of your measuring cup)
1 tb Golden syrup. (any light
-syrup will do)
1/2 c Sugar
3/4 Coconut
3/4 c Rolled oats
3/4 c Flour
1 ts Baking soda
1 tb Hot water

This recipe is from the Edmonds Cookery book – the cooking bible on 3 1/2
million kiwi bookshelves. I’d love to know if they were the same as the

Melt butter and sugar together in a large saucepan. Cool. Mix sugar,
coconut, rolled oats, and flour together. Stir into saucepan. Dissolve soda
in water and mix in. Place rounded teaspoonfuls on a greased oven tray.
Bake at 350 F (180 C) for 15 minutes. Makes 36. These are chewy and a vry
popular cookie here.
