1 1/2 c Sifted all purpose flour
1/2 c Sugar
1/2 ts Soda
1/4 ts Salt
1/2 c Shortening
1/2 c Creamy peanut butter
1/4 c Light corn syrup
1 tb Milk
More peanut butter for
-filling
Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening & peanut butter until
mixture resembles coarse meal. Blend in syrup & milk. Shape into a 2-inch
roll & chill. Slice 1/8 to 1/4-inch thick. Place half the slices on an
ungreased cookie sheet & spread each with 1/2 teaspoon peanut butter. Cover
with remaining slices & seal edges with a fork. Bake at 350 for about 12
minutes. Cool slightly & remove from sheet. Makes 2 dozen.
