Dutch Apple Cake

Ingrients & Directions


FOR THE APPLES
1/2 c Almonds; toasted
3 Green apples; cored and
-sliced
1/2 c Powdered sugar
1/8 c Flour
1/2 tb Cinnamon
1/2 tb Vanilla

FOR THE TOPPING
1 Stick butter; cut into
-pieces
1 c Flour
1 c Brown sugar
1 c White sugar
1 c Slivered almonds

Place the whole almonds in a food processor and pulse to chop finely. In a
mixing bowl toss together the pulverized almonds, apples, powdered sugar,
flour, cinnamon and vanilla. Place the mixture in a 8″ square baking dish.

Place the topping ingredients in a food processor and pulse until the
mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Pour the topping mixture over the apples.
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake at 325? for 35 minutes. Uncover
and bake about 15-20 minutes more or until topping is golden brown. Serve
warm! Serves 4-6.
