Macadamia Cheesecake Cookies

Ingrients & Directions


1 c Flour
1/3 c Butter or margarine;
-softened
1/3 c Brown sugar
1/2 c Macadamia nut bits
1 Egg
1 pk (8-oz) cream cheese;
-softened
1/4 c Sugar
2 tb Milk
2 tb Lemon juice
1/2 ts Vanilla

From _A Hundred Years of Island Cooking_ published by Hawaiian Electric.
Preheat electric oven to 350F. In small bowl of electric mixer, combine
flour, butter, and brown sugar. Mix until fine particles are formed. Stir
in nuts. Reserve 1 c of mixture for topping. Press remainder into ungreased
8-in square pan. Bake for 12-15 min or until lightly browned. In small bowl
of electric mixer, combine remaining ingredients. Beat well; spread over
crust. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Bake for 25-30 min. Cool; cut
into squares. Makes
16 squares.
