1 c All-purpose flour, sifted 1 c Sugar
1/2 ts Baking powder 2/3 c Applesauce
1/4 ts Baking soda 2 Eggs
1/4 ts Salt 1 ts Vanilla
1/2 c Butter or margarine 1/2 c Pecans, chopped
2 oz Unsweetened baking chocolate
Preheat oven to 350oF. Grease an 8″ square pan on bottom. Sift flour,
baking powder, soda and salt together; set aside. In double boiler, melt
butter and chocolate together over medium heat. Remove from heat and add
sugar and applesauce. Beat in eggs one at a time. Blend in vanilla and dry
ingredients; stir in pecans.
Pour into prepared pan. Spread evenly. Bake 35-40 mintues, until done as
desired. Let cool. Cut into squares or bars.
