Ingrients & Directions
1 1/2 c Shortening
4 Eggs
2 c Sugar
3 c Flour
1 ts Baking powder
1 ts Baking salt
1 c Milk
1 c Chopped walnuts
Grated rind of 2 oranges
Topping: Mix 1 cup sugar and juice of 2 oranges.
Cream together shortening, eggs and sugar. Add dry ingredients alternately
with milk to shortening mixture. Add nuts and rind. Pour batter into 2
greased 9×5 loaf pans. Bake at 350* 55 – 60 minutes. Cool in pan 10
minutes. Then spoon topping over bread. Cool 10 more minutes; remove from
pans.
