5 tb Butter, melted – 8″ ready graham crust
1/2 c Sliced walnuts
FILLING
2 pt Whole strawberries, washed Juice of 1/2 lemon
-hulled 8 Whole strawberries for
1/2 c Water – garnish
1 c Sugar Whipped cream for garnish
2 1/2 tb Cornstarch
Preheat oven to 350 deg f.
To prepare crust: Mix together the crust ingredients. Press into bottom
and up sides of a 9 inch pie plate. Bake for 6 – 8 minutes or until
slightly browned. Set aside to cool.
OR USE A READY TO USE CRUST (8 or 9 inch).
To prepare filling: Crush one pint of strawberries in a one quart
saucepan. Add water, sugar and cornstarch. Cook stirring until mixture is
boiling, thickened, and clear, about 15 minutes. Cool until comfortable to
touch, add lemon juice and stir in. Arrange second pint of strawberries in
bottom of crust, pointed end up. Pour cooled filling over strawberries.
Refrigerate for 2-3 hours. Serve garnished with whipped cream and whole
berries. Serves 6.
