4 1/2 c Flour
2 1/4 c Sugar
1/2 lb Butter (NOT margarine)
3 Eggs
1 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Cinnamon (optional)
Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten eggs. Mix well. Then add flour
and baking powder. Chill for an hour or so. Roll out on flour and
sugar board and cut with cookie cutters. Let stand overnight. Next
day place colored sugar on cookies or plain sugar or none at all.
Bake at 350?. Be sure not to brown too fast.
NOTE: Another way to use this dough: Cut into diamond shapes. Let
stand overnight. Next morning beat stiff 1 egg white and brush on
each diamond. Then add finely chopped nuts.
