2 c Cake flour 1 Egg, beaten
2 ts Baking powder Praline topping, Mix:
3/4 ts Salt 1/3 c Brown sugar
1 c Sugar 1 tb Flour
1/3 c Shortening 1/3 c Chopped nuts
1 ts Vanilla 3 tb Melted butter
3/4 c Milk 1 tb Water
Stir shortening to soften. Sift dry ingredients over shortening. Add
milk and mix until flour is dampened; then beat 2 minutes. Add egg
and beat 1 minute longer. Turn into a 9 x 9 inch greased cake pan.
Bake 25 minutes at 375 degrees. Spread at once with Praline Topping.
Bake 5 minutes longer. Cool and cut cake in pan.
