2/3 c Honey
2/3 c Molasses
2/3 c Brown sugar
1/2 c Butter
1/3 c Egg
4 c All-purpose flour
4 ts Baking powder
1 1/2 ts Ground cinnamon
1 1/2 ts Ground ginger
1/2 ts Ground cloves
Salt
Method: Combine and blend honey, molasses, brown sugar, butter and
egg. Combine and sift together flour and remaining dry ingredients;
add to honey mixture. Mix well. Refrigerate until chilled. Roll out
1/8-inch thick and cut with 3- to 4-inch bear cookie cutter. Bake at
350 F oven 12 minutes until lightly browned. Brush with icing and
decorate with currants or raisins, if desired.
Decorator’s Icing: Mix 8 ounce sifted confectioners’ sugar with 3 to 4
tablespoons water to brushing consistency.
