2 1/2 c Sugar 1 c Milk
1 c Butter 1 ts Vanilla
5 Eggs 4 c Flour
2 c Raisins (if desired) 3 ts Baking powder
Cream butter and sugar well. Add eggs one at a time, beating very
well after each addition. Add other ingred. Bake in moderate (325)
oven about 1 hour. Divide batter to make different types. Floured
cherries = cherry pound cake. Caraway seeds for caraway cake.
Glaced fruits = fruit pound cake.
Note: This cake is very much like a pound cake. Excellent recipe
given to me by my mother-in-law. I have been using it for years.
