3/4 c Shortening 1 ts Baking soda
1 c Sugar 1/2 ts Baking powder
1 c Packed brown sugar 1/2 ts Salt
2 ea Eggs 2 c Instant oats, dry — or
1 ts Vanilla extract Quick-cooking
2 c All-purpose flour 1 c Sunflower seeds — salted
In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugars until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Combine flour, baking soda, baking
powder and salt; add to creamed and mix well. Stir in the oats,
coconut and sunflower seeds. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking
sheets. Bake at 350 deg. for 12-15 min. or until golden brown. Yield:
