White Chocolate Cookies

Ingrients & Directions


1/2 c Butter or margarine 1/2 ts Salt
1/2 c Shortening 2 ts Vanilla extract
3/4 c Sugar 10 oz White chocolate — coarsely
1/2 c Packed brown sugar Chopped
1 ea Egg 1/2 c Coarsely chopped macadamia
1 3/4 c All-purpose flour Nuts — lightly toasted
1 ts Baking soda

In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and shortening. Gradually add
sugars, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg; mix well. Combine
flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture. Blend in vanilla. Stir
in chocolate and nuts. Cover and chill dough for 1 hour. Drop by
heaping tablespoonsful about 3 in. apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350 deg. for 12-14 minutes or until lightly browned. Let
stand a few minutes before removing cookies to a wire rack to cool.
Yield: about 2-1/2 dozen cookies
