Tarte Feuillette Aux Pommes (apple Tarts)

Ingrients & Directions


1 pk (17 oz) frozen puff pastry
-(2 sheets); thawed
4 Sml Golden Delicious apples;
-(peeled, cored, sliced
-thin)
4 tb Sugar
2 tb Unsalted butter
Creme Fraiche or French
-Vanilla Ice Cream for
-garnish; if desired

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Roll out one sheet of pastry to 1/4″ to 1/8″
thick on a floured work surface. Cut out two 6″ rounds. Repeat with second
sheet, forming four rounds total. Place rounds on a heavy, parchment-lined
cookie sheet. Using one apple per tart, overlap apple slices on each round
in concentric circles, forming a flower-like design (or any design of your
choice). Sprinkle each tart with 1 Tablespoon sugar and dot with 1/2
Tablespoon butter. Bake for about 22 to 25 minutes. Remove to plates for
serving and garnish if desired. Serve while warm.
