2 c Sifted bread flour
1/2 Tsp.salt
3 ts Baking powder
1/4 c Shortening
3/4 c Milk
These are from The Gold Cook Book.
1. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together.
2. Cut in shortening until the consistency of coarse corn meal.
3. Stir in milk to make a soft dough.
4. Turn out on floured board and knead for 1/2 min.
5. Roll out to 1/2″ thickness.
6. Cut in 2″ rounds with biscuit cutter.
7. Bake at 450 degrees for 12-15 min.
8. When done, quickly split biscuits in two and spread lower halves with
honey and upper halves with butter. Put the halves together and let stand a
few minutes so that the flavour permeates the biscuit.
