Cheese Spoon Bread

Ingrients & Directions


3/4 c Corn meal 2 tb Fat
1 ts Salt 2 c Milk
ds Pepper 1/2 lb Process cheese, sliced
1 tb Sugar 3 ea Eggs, beaten
1 c Water

In sauce pan mix corn meal, salt, pepper, sugar, water, fat, and 1
cup milk. Cook over medium heat until thick and boiling, stirring
constantly. Remove from heat; add sliced cheese, reserving a few
slices to put on top of mixture before baking. Stir until cheese
melts.
Add remaining milk and beaten eggs. Pour into greased 1 1/2 qt
shallow baking dish. Put reserved slices of cheese on top. Bake at
325 F. until almost set, about 50 minutes. Serve immediately.
