Grandma Wyckoff’s Squaw Bread

Ingrients & Directions


2 c Flour 3 tb Lard
1 tb Baking Powder Fat — for frying
1 c Sour Milk

Combine flour, baking powder, milk and lard. Knead on bread board
until soft. Use more flour to hold together if needed. Cover and let
stand 10-15 mins. Pinch off dough and roll into thin strips 6-8
inches long and 3-4 inches wide. Heat fat to about 400 F and fry
strips to a pretty dark brown color. Makes 10 pieces.
