Louise Banghart’s Brown Bread (graham)

Ingrients & Directions


1 qt Buttermilk
1 1/4 c Brown sugar
1 Egg
1/3 c Shortening
1 c Raisins; (optional)
1/4 c Molasses
1 c All-purpose flour
1 c Corn meal
4 c Whole wheat flour; (graham)
1 ts Salt
2 ts Baking soda

Mix and pour into 3greased and floured bread pans. Bake at 350 F. until
done, aobut 50 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean. Makes 3 loaves. MC
