1 lb LIGHT BROWN SUGAR 5 x EGGS SEPARATED
1/2 c WHITE SUGAR 1 c MILK
1 1/2 c SHORTENING (PART BUTTER) 3 c FLOUR
1/2 ts BAKING POWDER 1 ts VANILLA
SEPARATE THE EGGS. BEAT THE EGG WHITES TILL STIFF. CREAM THE SHORTENING
ADD THE SUGARS AND BEAT AGAIN. STIR IN WELL BEATEN EGG YOLKS. SIFT
FLOUR WITH THE BAKING POWDER AND ADD ALTERNATELY WITH MILK TO THE
SUGARS. ADD NUT AND VANILLA. FOLD IN EGG WHITES. POUR INTO GREASED AND
FLOURED TUBE PAN. BAKE AT 350 DEG F FOR 1 1/2 HOURS.
