German Chocolate Cake Icing (coconut Pecan) I

Ingrients & Directions


2/3 c Sugar
2 ea Egg yolks
1/2 ts Vanilla
2/3 c Chopped pecans
2/3 c Evaporated milk
1/3 c Crisco shortening
1 1/3 c Flaked coconut (3 1/2 oz.)

Combine sugar, milk, egg yolks, Crisco and vanilla. Cook and stir
over medium heat about 12 minutes or until mixture comes to a boil.
Remove from heat, add coconut and pecans. Beat until frosting is
thick. Cool 15 minutes.

Makes only enough to spread on top of layers.
