Sour Cream Prune Cake

Ingrients & Directions


1 1/2 c Brown sugar 2 Eggs, well beaten
1 c Thick sour cream 1 c Uncooked pitted prunes
1/4 c Cold water 2 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Baking soda 1 ts Cinnamon
1/2 ts Salt 1 ts Cloves
1 1/2 c Cake flour 1 ts Nutmeg

Combine eggs, sugar, cream, and water. Mix well. Sift flour,
measure 1 1/4 cups, and sift with baking powder, baking soda, salt,
and spices. Add to first mixture. Beat thoroughly. Add prunes which
have been cut in small pieces and dredged in 1/4 cup of the sifted
flour. Pour into well-oiled loaf pan. Bake in moderate oven (375 F)
about 45 minutes. The Household Searchlight
