Cream shortening and sugar, then add the eggs and flour which has been
sifted with the cream of tarter. Then the milk in which the soda has been
added and vanilla. Drop by teaspoonfull onto a greased cookie sheet,
sprinkle with sugar and bake at 425 degrees until done.
First Test: Divided the recipe in half, using 2 medium eggs and 1 1/2 cups
flour. The dough could be a little stiffer, maybe try 4 cups flour(2 for
1/2 batch next time). Baked at 375 degrees for about 6 – 8 minutes but was
adjusting oven temperature down from 425 so this might vary.
