Tea Biscuits

Ingrients & Directions


3 c White flour
4 ts Baking powder
1/4 c Sugar
1 ts Salt
2/3 c Shortening
2 c Water

Mix together the dry ingredients. Cut in the shortening. Add water,
a little at a time & mix thoroughly. Using more flour if necessary,
knead dough lightly until it is well mixed & not sticky. Roll dough
with rolling pin to 1/2″ thickness & cut with a cookie cutter. Place
on cookie sheet & bake at 400F for 10 minutes.

Variation, add 1/2 c currants before adding the water.

Makes 18 biscuits.
