Ingrients & Directions


6 Egg whites
1/2 ts Cream of tartar
1/2 c Sugar
6 Egg yolks
6 tb Strong cold coffee
1 ts Vanilla
1 1/2 c Flour
1/2 ts Salt
1 tb Baking powder
1 c Sugar
1 c Broken walnuts
2 c Whipping cream; whipped
Chocolate syrup

Beat egg whites with cream of tartar to soft peaks, gradually beating in
sugar and set aside. Combine egg yolks, coffee and vanilla. Sift all dry
ingredients add to egg yok mixture and beat well. Gently fold in beaten egg
whites along with walnuts. Spoon into ungreased 10″ tube pan. Bake at 375?
for 40-45 minutes. Invert until cool, remove from pan. Slice in thirds
crosswise. Fill and frost with cream whipped and flavored to taste with
chocolate syrup.
