“Jellied Biscuits are a 2 t Sugar
-pleasure to serve because 1/2 t Salt
-they look 1/2 t Cream of tartar
So lovely with the jelly on 1/2 c Shortening
-them.” – Marsha Ransom 3/4 c Milk
2 c Flour 1/3 c Jelly
4 t Baking powder

In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and cream of
tartar. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. ADd
milk; stir quickly with a fork just until mixed. Drop by rounded
tablespoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet. Make a deep thumbprint in
tops; fill each with 1 tsp. of jelly. Bake at 450 degrees for 10-12
minutes or until biscuits are browned. Makes: 1 dozen
